Cleaning Instructions

Tiger Tail® products are all easy to clean with over-the-counter or commercial anti-bacterial disinfectants. Select a brand of disinfectant with active ingredients such as ethyl alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, chlorhexidine gluconate solution, etc. to kill bacteria and germs. Examples may include over-the-counter or commercial anti-bacterial disinfectants such as Purell® or Germ-X® Hand Sanitizer, Clorox® Healthcare products, Hibiclens® Antiseptic Skin Cleanser, etc. DO NOT SUBMERGE THE PRODUCTS IN LIQUID OR POUR LIQUIDS OVER THE PRODUCTS. You may use a clean hand towel or paper towel to apply the disinfectants. Be sure to wear any protective equipment, such as gloves, that the disinfectant product may require.

  • According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, it is important to select a disinfectant that has been approved by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to kill Staphylococcus Aureus (S. Aureus) or MRSA (look for the list of microorganisms on the product label.)

  • Select a brand of disinfectant with active ingredients such as ethyl alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, chlorhexidine gluconate solution, etc. to kill bacteria and germs. Examples may include over-the-counter or commercial anti-bacterial disinfectants such as Purell® or Germ-X® Hand Sanitizer, Clorox® Healthcare products, Hibiclens® Antiseptic Skin Cleanser, etc.

  • Do not submerge the products in liquid or pour liquid over the products.

  • You may use a clean hand towel or paper towel to apply the disinfectants. Be sure to wear any protective equipment, such as gloves, that the disinfectant product may require.

  • Clean off dirt and organic material from the product before applying disinfectant to help it be the most effective.

  • Make sure the disinfectant stays wet on the surface for the contact time listed on the disinfectant’s label. This is the amount of time the disinfectant must remain on the surface to be effective.

  • Always follow the directions for use on the cleaning/disinfectant product’s label.

  • Products should air dry completely before use. Shared equipment that comes into direct skin contact should be cleaned after each use and allowed to dry.

  • Repeat the cleaning process often if you are sharing your tools with others.  Cleaning and disinfecting equipment is a crucial step to prevent infections from being transmitted.
