Vastus Medialis Oblique
Muscle knots in the Vastus Medialis Oblique (VMO) are usually located just above and to the inside of the knee joint, where the muscle helps stabilize the patella. These muscle knots often refer pain to the front and inner side of the knee, and can radiate upward into the lower medial thigh. A common symptom is a sudden buckling of the knee, especially during walking or squatting, which can feel both surprising and frustrating.
