Spring is such a great time, who can agree?! The air is fresh and the promise of summer is just around the corner. Everyone is making plans, cleaning up the yard and dusting off over-wintered gear, and getting ready to dive into warm weather sports that might seem gentle, but actually require quite a bit of grit and hard work. And, with that hard work comes a proper recovery plan in which Tiger Tail USA can help with.
Surfing
If you’re new to surfing, keep in mind that being a strong swimmer with good gear is a must. And, be prepared for your arms and shoulders to be tired after a day at the beach.
Here are some tools to use before and after to keep you riding the waves all season long:
- Tiger Ball 2.6® Massage-on-a-Rope®
- Tiger Ball® 4.4 Peanut Foam Roller
- Knotty Tiger® JR Massage Roller Ball
- Tiger Tail® Roadster™11” Foam Roller Massage Stick
Don’t wait too long to get out there – your wave is waiting for ya!
Kayaking
Much like surfing, kayaking is going to be hard on your back, neck, arms and shoulders. Even in calm water, you are still getting serious resistance training! In order to have tight control over your craft you need strength and endurance which can leave you a little rubbery after a day on the water.
Here are some tools that will help ensure you are ready to get back out there:
Golf
If you are a golfer, you have probably been seeking out the best greens all year long, but in the spirit of warmer weather and spring fever, let’s tackle this one too. Having a great swing is no small feat, however shoulder overuse and twist injuries can happen quickly. It isn’t uncommon to spend more than 4 hours on the green.
Here are some tools to help you prepare to be on the course back to back days:
Disc Golf
Disc Golf became popular in the late 90’s and early 2000’s and is still going strong! Along with hacky sack circles, this game is so fun and mellow…until….you tweak your shoulder or continually overthrow your frisbee. Seems innocent enough, but after a session of Disc Golf, you’re gonna want a little shoulder relief.
Here are a couple tools to help you wind down:
“Fun Runs”
The truth is, fun runs are not always fun – especially if you do one without any training! The most common is the 5K that your friend probably talked you into for a community benefit or fundraiser…and we never feel the need to train for them. However, trying to run 3.5 miles without any building up to one can be tough (no one’s judging, it’s for charity).
Here are some tools you can use to make it a little easier on yourself (and your knees!):
- Tiger Tail® The Original™ 18” Foam Roller Massage Stick
- DrySoak™ Water Therapy Pillow
- Tiger Tail® Footsie™ Foot Massage Roller
If you are a weekend warrior or are dedicated to one seasonal sport, there are plenty of Tiger Tail ® tools to help you have the best possible experience.
